How It Works

Jin values flexibility, openness, and listening so they can customize sessions to the needs of the center and the individuals in the group. With that in mind, the following information provides a general idea of how Jin typically runs a session.

  • Jin creates a fun, playful, and encouraging environment for people from all walks of life to experience the profound benefits of yoga. Jin holds space for sharing to build rapport and group connection, inviting people to build self-awareness, cultivate gratitude, and share their successes and experience, strength, and hope with their peers.

  • Jin then offers a yoga practice that meets people where they are, while also empowering them to take their practice to the next level — whether that’s through a deeper level of participation or by finding a variation of the posture to practice wisely responding to their bodies’ signals.

  • Jin draws from training in the Yoga of 12-Step Recovery®, the Trauma-Conscious Yoga Method® (certification pending), certification in various yoga styles, personal practice in Refuge Recovery and Insight Meditation, and ongoing lived experience in mental health and addiction recovery.
